The above guidelines are only to aid you and are not an exact conversion. When shipping household goods by ocean the charges are normally based on the measurement (number of cubic meters or cubic feet) and not on the weight. The inland costs from your door to the port or the terminal will be based on weight however. If you are shipping furniture that you do not want to crate or box up then you would need to consider shipping your goods in a 20 foot or 40 foot container. We provide them for you for your good to be loaded into.
